Liturgy of the Word for Children/God Squad

The more the liturgy makes use of the senses, the more it is embodied, the more the children who are present will be immersed in the Christian tradition.  With this in mind, we share the message of God's Word through discussions, visuals, active songs, puppetry and by acting out the readings of the Gospel.  We provide an opportunity for the chidlren to personally reflect on God's Word which is presented at a level children can understand.  Liturgy of the Word for Children is offered at the 10:30 a.m. Mass.  Adult volunteers are needed to help with planning, scheduling, set up, distributing children's name tags before Mass and clean up.  God Squad members (fourth grade students and older) are always welcome.  Students serve as cantors, greeters, lectors, actors, puppeteers and singers.  For futher information, please contact the Coordinator of Religious Education at 419.228.7635.
